The Children's and Young People's Service In Coventry

Photo : ChildrenThe Children's and Young People's Service in Coventry works in partnership with schools and other agencies to meet the educational needs of children and the wider community in the city and is committed to providing lifelong learning for all.

By constantly developing training and learning opportunities we can equip people with the skills and knowledge they need to achieve their potential. Education gives people more skills, more knowledge and provides a route out of poverty, in turn making Coventry a better place to learn, live and work.

Coventry City Council has placed educational excellence at the heart of its corporate agenda and recognises the essential role that education plays in contributing to raising educational standards, improving skills, enhancing employment prospects, increasing economic prosperity and improving citizenship.

Over 50,000 pupils attend the 116 local authority schools across the city - 86 primary, 19 secondary and 11 special schools and Hillfields Early Years Centre. A total of 27 primary schools and 4 secondary schools in the city are Church Schools.
